Tahoe Updates Regional Plan; Environmentalists Not Excited

Developing land around Lake Tahoe should be slightly less burdensome in the future now that the 25-year old regional plan has been modified to allow investment in outdated properties that were previously considered to be releasing too much dirt and nutrients into the lake. With a single, pristine body of water famous for water clarity depths reaching a vertigo-inducing 70 feet, developing land around Tahoe has always been an onerous process hemmed in by strict environmental standards, and plenty are grumbling that these new rules don't do enough to protect the lake.
