Every Week, Curbed Comparisons breaks down what you can get at the same price point, style or size in five different Cape and Islands neighborhoods. This week, five live/work spaces.
Let's begin in East Dennis, at 1841 Route 6A, where we find Worden Hall. The 3,977 sq. ft. was built in 1890 and sits on .31 acres. The historic art gallery includes a large open area and mezzanine and, according to the brokerbabble, a "3 BR private living areas for home occupation." Occupy Worden Hall for $549K.

Over in Wellfleet, at 230 Main Street, we find a five bedroom antique built in 1890 with an adjacent commercial building. Located in Wellfleet Village, the two buildings sit on a third of an acre. The 2,286 sq. ft. main residence features hardwood floors and a wide center staircase. The newer 1,254 sq. ft. structure (that's the one with the books scattered about like it's an audition for "Hoarders") features beamed cathedral ceilings and multi-level sun filled spaces. Yours for $797K.

Over to Falmouth, at 710 West Falmouth Highway, where we find a reproduction 18th century Jenkins Cape from Maine built in 1998. The .85 acre property is surrounded by stone walls and includes the three bedroom, two bath main residence and a separate commercially zoned post and beam barn built in 2001. The latter has direct frontage on Route 28A. The property hit the market in June asking $699,900. Two pricechops have brought the listing down to $624,900.

In Brewster, at 3861 Main Street, we find a custom-built Cape with a detached two story barn on historic Route 6A. Built in 2000, the 2,437 sq. ft. property features two first floor bedroom suites, a country kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining room, and office. The detached barn is finished on both levels, offering shop space on the first floor and a studio with a full bath on the second floor. Yours for $629K.

Finally, to Osterville, at 969 Main Street, where we find a two-unit property built in 1851. Located in Osterville Village, the .43 acre lot has "Great frontage, exposure and ample parking out back." Although it's less than homey and looks like an office suite inside, the brokerbabble assures us that it would be an "ideal as mixed use home/office." Live/work for $499K.
