The architects responsible for Dubai's Burj Khalifa—the tallest (for now) building in the world—were tapped to design a new skyscraper in midtown Manhattan, to be completed by 2018. Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture will be responsible for what is planned to be a 1,500-foot-tall tower: that's a whole 300 feet loftier than the Empire State Building. More details, this way.
