HYANNIS- Bismore Park on Hyannis Harbor is getting some new bike racks and The Town of Barnstable is looking for visual artists, designers and engineers to get artsy. "The designs must be functional and 'aesthetically intriguing', according to a release from the town. The racks will be manufactured in galvanized steel with colored powder coating or something comparable and able to withstand the elements." A cash prize will be awarded for the winning designs. ORLEANS- The Town of Orleans might be giving the Old King's Highway Regional Historic District the old 'it's not you, it's me' talk: "For decades, Orleans has been among six Cape towns that pay thousands to be part of a regional district whose mission is to preserve a community's historic appearance. But one selectman says it's time to make a change." [Cape Cod Times]

YARMOUTHPORT- Tired of having their fences knocked down and other speed demon nonsense along Route 6A: "Residents are working with police, town and state officials to stop speeders and to install clearly defined crosswalks, better signs and possibly curbing along a 1.5-mile section of Old King's Highway from Union to Willow streets."
