The Real Estalker hears that quirky/sexy actor Johnny Depp has snatched up a profusely decked home in the suburbs of Nashville. His latest real estate purchase—recently listed at $17.5M, though the A-lister probably handed over much less—packs rows of heavy columns, enumerable spangles of chandeliers, and hundreds of yards in drapery and Oriental rugs into its 19,042 square feet, the kind of opulence we've come to expect from hip-hop legends, politician's mistresses, and fashion designers, but somehow seems a little overbearing for Depp. This would be the second manse Depp has picked up in the last three months; in September, he dropped $4.4M on a Los Angeles home for his ex and their two children. He also owns a private island in the Bahamas, which he bought for $3.6M in 2004—duh, this is Jack Sparrow, after all. Anyway, the Nashville estate includes a library clad in leather and wood, a seven-car garage, a screening room, several river rock fireplaces, and an absolutely palatial master bathroom—there are clouds painted on the ceiling, and nothing says rich and relaxed like some faux cumulonimbus.
