Cape & Islands Gifts for Coffee Lovers

New, 2 comments

Need a present for a coffee lover in your life? Whether it's a pound of beans, a gift package or a subscription (they're not just for fruit, ya know), our local roasters have got you covered. Each of these five Cape & Islands coffee purveyors are focused on quality, committed to sustainability and, best of all, have online stores (cyber cafes?). To make sure your caffeine fix arrives in time for the holidays, we've included some "order by" dates, so take heed and happy shopping!

CHILMARK COFFEE COMPANY - Over on the Vineyard, "Chilmark Coffee has quickly grown to be a regional leader in keeping town administrators alive at their desks and the choice of parents with kids who rise early... way too early." They've got a holiday-worthy coffee subscription (6 or 12 month) and pounds by the bag or in their new valved tin.

JIM'S ORGANIC COFFEE - Over the bridge (yes, we're cheating) in West Wareham, Jim's been roasting since 1992. "Drink up, feel good" with their best selling Sweet Love Blend or do some good with their Holiday Blend, in which 5% of all sales go to support their library in Guatemala. Place holiday orders by December 17.

NANTUCKET COFFEE ROASTERS - "Don't get burnt, get roasted!" Founded in 1993, this island roaster offers a wide variety of beans by the pound. Order on their web site, get schooled on the history of coffee on Nantucket and "learn everything you ever wanted to know about the all-important coffee bean."

THE ART OF ROASTING - Teachers Jeff and Justin run this Chatham roastery with a focus on small batches. The Holiday Blend 2012 is available by the pound or as part of a gift package which includes an "Upcycled Coffee sack with wooden button holding a one pound bag of holiday blend and two cup cozies." Order by December 14.

BEANSTOCK COFFEE - This Wellfleet roaster has been satisfying coffee lovers since 1996. With a mission that "Coffee is Personal," Beanstock will even personalize the labels on your bags of beans. Their Cape Cod Blends (Black Fish Creek, Cape Beach and Nauset), Beanstock Coffee Club and gift boxes (with the "wildly popular I'm Outta Here Travel Mug") are all holiday-worthy.
