Now that the red rooms and ridiculous heart-shaped tubs of Valentine's Day have come and gone—all you singles can revert to feeling only moderately depressed—House Beautiful unveils its color of the year: green. And not just boring, regular Skittles green, of course, but rather everything "from primordial scum greens to silvery greens of a moonlight garden," as Newell Turner writes in the March editor's letter, later adding: "From walls of glossy dark green that recede into the night to a whisper of green in a cabana stripe that's as fresh as a breeze." Last year, in honor of its 2011 color, pink, the magazine Photoshopped the likeness of Keanu Reeves onto various pink chairs around Chicago. Will the actor be subjected to a similar fate this year? Perhaps everyman Ryan Gosling rendered on to benches the color of primordial scum? Until that eternal question is answered, do browse the highlights from the current issue above and let Turner guide you through the pages over here.
