The Legendary Albert Hadley Lists Much-Published NYC Flat

New, 5 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: New York, N.Y.
Price: $1,300,000
The Skinny: Just like his late design partner Sister Parish—whose own apartment on Fifth Avenue is currently on the market for $3.5M—the legendary interior designer Albert Hadley has kept a "town" apartment in Manhattan as a pied-à-terre, at least until now. Hadley listed his two-bedroom flat at 10 East 85th Street last month for $1.3M. Undeniably small, the modest apartment was glamorized by Hadley's signature style, and the space was extensively published, including in the recent book The Finest Rooms in America. Sadly, it seems the priceless furnishings do not come packaged with the petite apartment, but some of the unique finishes are sure to stay, including the pearly ceiling in the living room. Located in a doorman co-op around the corner from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this would make an elegant pied-à-terre or home for a designer-to-the-stars looking to follow in Hadley's footsteps.
