Inside SoCal's Epic, Utterly Mindblowing $78.8M Mega-Estate

New, 10 comments

Tectonic plates must be heaving throughout the fair state of California thanks to this new-to-market mansion, which was built in 1985 and is currently owned by real estate tycoon Donald G. Abbey. To get the boring stuff over with first, the Med-style main house, located in the gate-guarded community of the Bradbury Estates, has five bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, marble, wood paneling, two dining rooms, and two master suites. Now the fun begins: extravagant extras include a 3D theater, a 2,000-bottle wine cellar, a subterranean firing range (so you don't bother the neighbors, obviously), a dramatic cross shaped-pool, a temperature-controlled trout pond with a two-story waterfall (because the trout need a sense of ambience?), and a Jacuzzi designed to accommodate 15 people. In all, the estate comprises 47,000 square feet of interiors: 32,000 in the main house and another 15,000 throughout the outbuildings. The whole kit 'n' caboodle is asking an astounding $78.8M, a price tag that some will actually find pretty reasonable, considering.
