Giorgio Armani isn't the only celebrity creative-type to become romanced by the wonders of Switzerland: the late Beatles guitarist George Harrison bought a magnificent $10M Swiss estate in 2001, just months before his death, as he underwent radiotherapy for a brain tumor at a nearby clinic. Now that beaut is on the market.
According to AOL Real Estate, the ask of the 1.6-acre property—which has a 10,800-square-foot Palladian-style main house and an 1,800-square-foot outbuilding—is being kept hush-hush. What the listing focuses on instead are the lavish interior details: marble floors with mosaics that hail from Hungary, France, and Italy, frescoes, columns, and ornate boiserie paneling, not to mention a four-floor elevator. Outside, the grounds boast manicured gardens, bonsai trees, topiaries, a pool with decorative statuary, an 800-square-foot brick castle, and a treehouse.
