Golfer Phil Mickelson, due to be inducted into the golf's Hall of Fame in May, has listed his Mediterranean-style hillside estate outside of San Diego for $7.095M. Set on almost five acres of carefully landscaped grounds that, naturally, include a putting green, the 9,500-square-foot main house boasts seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a master suite with an attached gym where "Lefty" can flex his muscles. The interiors are of the Venetian palace sort, perhaps over the top, but undeniably luxurious. There are "hand-plastered ceilings, a hand-carved fireplace of white Cantera stone, white Calcutta marble imported from Italy," and an ornately-tiled master shower with Baccarat crystal fixtures. How does a golfer afford such extravagances? Well, Mickelson was, according to some estimates, the second highest-paid athlete in America in 2011, raking in more than $60M.
