A Cute Craftsman in One of L.A.'s Walkable Neighborhoods

New, 2 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Los Angeles, Calif.
Price: $689,000
The Skinny: Located off a particularly walkable section of North Vermont Avenue in the L.A.'s Los Feliz neighborhood, this 1909 Craftsman might be short on floor space, but the classic detailing more than makes up for the cramped quarters. Inside there are three bedrooms, just one bathroom, and a windowed modern kitchen with a full complement of stainless steel appliances. The backyard, where the grass is in need of some attention, has been accented by a cozy trellised dining area and feels private thanks to a hedgerow and several mature trees. This house last sold in 2005 for $659K, so the current ask of $689K doesn't exactly sound like a cash grab, and chances are it was the current owners who updated the kitchen and bathroom. While that might not sound so good from an investment perspective, at least the buyer won't be on the wrong end of a quick flip.
