Buy a Ski Chalet in the Swiss "St. Tropez" For a Cool $45M

New, 1 comment

Ever dreaming of owning a ski chalet in the Alps? How about three of them? While you're dreaming of stuff, you had better also dream of having $45M, because that's what it will take to buy this trio. Named Chalet Trois Couronnes, the property, nestled into Grand Combin mountain in the Western Alps, has a total of 14,000 square feet of living space and an amenities roster that includes a banquet service kitchen, an indoor spa (with a sauna, hammam, and indoor pool), an outdoor Jacuzzi, a home theater, an antique stone kitchen (pieces from La Cornue and Gaggenau included), an underground garage, and a glass-walled wine cellar and tasting room. Each house, designed with traditional post-and-beam interior architecture, is constructed from "old wood reclaimed from antique Swiss chalets" and boasts "cut-stone fireplaces from a French chateau" and Renaissance-era roof beams, among other handsome details, and they're conjoined by a vaulted art gallery that can be used to host events. Best of all? According to the brokerabble, "the deep pool is equipped with a hydraulic bottom—allowing the spa area to be converted into a large party and reception room with dramatic views over Verbier and the ski area." Perhaps even better, buying this place will secure near-celebrity status: the village of Verbier, often called the "Swiss St. Tropez," is a destination of choice for folks like Prince Harry, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Al Pacino.
