Could Skyscrapers-as-Wheels Actually Become a Thing?

New, 2 comments

Today Co.Design presents a fascinating architectural what-if: what if you wrapped a three-story building in a rubber tire-like structure that could literally wheel itself away from, say, natural disasters or economic strife? The idea of the Migrant Skyscraper comes from Polish architects Damian and Rafa? Przyby?a, who believe that "architecture has to assure a possibility to act in response to highly improbable reality, and events which are to come.” Interesting how something designed to become "a manifesto of individuality" would utterly undermine that which the very notion of housing value is built upon: location, location, location.
