Apparently not all trips to Ikea result in the complete and utter demise of one's relationship, as a recent 30 Rock sketch would have you believe; in fact, it's arguable that if you can make it through a date to Ikea alive you should damn well get married. And that's exactly what Julie Rodgers and Willie Pittman did last night in College Park, Md.: they wed in the very store where they had their first date exactly two years ago. According to WTOP, the store gave them the space on the house, as well as table linens, chairs, and meatballs, which the couple, ironically now both vegetarians, enjoyed together on their first date. ("We're going to have an anniversary meatball. It may only be one or two, but it will be a commemorative meatball," Rodgers said.)

Anyway, the ceremony—a first for Ikea, it seems—took place during store hours and garnered mixed responses for customers. One called it "the craziest thing I've ever seen" and wondered who would do such a thing; another found the idea admirable, truly a surefire way to create a memorable experience. As for what will become of Ikea's future as the reigning wedding venue of its time: "We'll entertain them all, but we'll see where it goes from here. We're not really in the wedding business," said a rep. But hey, given all that's been going on with the brand, it's not such a crazy idea.
