On the Market in Tony Southern Connecticut: Pot Island

New, 3 comments

One of the Thimble Islands—an archipelago consisting of hundreds of tiny islands in Stony Creek Harbor on the Southern Connecticut coastline—Pot Island is marked by a former hotel that's been converted into an 11-bedroom 6,300-square-foot private home. First listed for $3.375M, the lovely Victorian mansion, built in 1880, has since been PriceChopped considerably and now asks $2.85M. Also on the property is a private beach, meadows, and "favored lookout knoll of previous guests," according to Realtor.com. And if you're not the type to drop $30M on anything, never mind a home around here (as one wealthy widow did in 2007), no need for a private boat: just for the Thimble Islands' plebe set, there's a water taxi.
