The architect and industrial designer Michael Graves was walking one Sunday with his daughter, when he spotted a "a ruin in Princeton, N.J.," that was, in fact, an abandoned warehouse built and once used by the Italian masons brought in to build the stone dormitories at Princeton University. Graves transformed The Warehouse, as it is now known, into a magnificent home for himself and his family. In 2003, when an infection suddenly paralyzed the architect, he modified the design to suit his needs. All this and more are addressed in an excellent short film by Dwell and Gary Nadeau entitled, "Design Icon: Michael Graves for Dwell."
