Inside the Flintstones-Esque Home of the Late Dick Clark

Here now, From Curbed Marketplace, highlighting an intriguing real estate listing from the many thousands of properties found in the Curbed Marketplace. Browsing the Marketplace and spot a property worthy of being featured? Send it to the tipline.

This most unusual property, set on 22 acres on a hilltop in Malibu, Calif., belonged to the late, great radio and TV personality Dick Clark and was listed for sale in early March, not two months before his death. The one-bedroom home looks like it was carved from bedrock and sports vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling expanses of glass that make the most of those ocean and city views. (In fact, the street here is, appropriately, Pacific View Road.) Although details about the architect and builder are nonexistent, the listing does decry that "this is art as architecture at its finest," a true "imaginative architectural creation." One would expect nothing less from Clark, who was notoriously young-at-heart when it came to his homes. The, uh, rockin' abode is listed for $3.5M.
