Joining Scenic, S.D., Pray, Mont., Henry River Mill Village, N.C., and, most recently, Buford, Wyo. (which just sold to two Vietnamese businessmen for $900K) in the towns-for-sale game is Toomsboro, Ga. With a population of 700, a 1.86-square-mile foothold, a convenience store, a florist, a cabinet shop, and a post office, Toomsboro is largely owned by developer David Bumgardner—who at one point hoped to create a "quaint tourist town"—and preservationist Bill Lucardo. According to the Associated Press, these guys are now awaiting offers on what Lucardo calls "a perfect fit for a movie production company seeking a set or a music company looking for a great venue." They have not named an asking price just yet—stay tuned.
