Lautner Restoration

The John Lautner-designed midcentury masterpiece known as the Garcia House, in L.A.'s Hollywood Hills, recently underwent a stunningly complete renovation by much-lauded local firm Marmol Radziner. That wrapped months ago, but the convoluted story that accompanies the renovation bears details worth repeating, like the fact that the current owners wooed filmmaker Vincent Gallo into selling the place over lunch, one of them later camped out in the house in a sleeping bag, and the newly-added swimming pool? Yes, that was part of the original plan. [Curbed LA]
