The design mag Dwell unveiled their first interior design issue this month, with a brand new column, Hotel Registry, aimed at bringing readers the best in design from the hospitality sector and penned by Jamie Gillin, formerly of Travel & Leisure. Where better to begin than with the the story of Hotel Lautner in Desert Hot Springs, California. Designed by, as you may have guessed, the great John Lautner, the hotel recently underwent four years of renovations by interior designer Tracy Beckmann and furniture designer Ryan Trowbridge, and emerged looking its midcentury best.
