A Modest Three-Bed on Edgartown Harbor? That'll Be $11M

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Edgartown, Mass.
Price: $10,900,000
The Skinny: On the most desirable street, in the most desirable town, on one of the country's most treasured summer escapes, even a three-bedroom, 2,100-square-foot cottage on 0.37 acres can fetch eight digits. Built in 1995 to a Colonial design, this place last traded hands in 2004 for just under $6M, but is now seeking much more: $10.9M. The views of Edgartown Harbor and the lighthouse are undeniably beautiful, as are the mahogany decks, floor-to-ceiling windows, and glistening hardwood floors, but there are some surprises. The kitchen appliances, while new and all, are hardly the commercial-grade type we'd expect at this price point and two of the three bedrooms lack direct water views. Still, the rare deepwater dock and private beach are plenty of enticement for rich buyers willing to skimp on space.
