On The Beach In Eastham, Asking $699,000

We did a double-take when we saw this Eastham beach house listed for $699,000, far below the typical asking price for a waterfront property. Well, if it sounds to good to be true, it is. Apparently, this beach house is literally on the beach. There are "permits in place to move the house back & protect it from the shoreline." (But it will still be in Harmes Way. Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Built in 1969, when the shoreline was located a bit further out, the 1440 sq. ft. four bedroom, two bath split level includes a wood burning fireplace, outdoor shower and one-car garage. There are views of Cape Cod Bay, Great Island and the marsh from most rooms. Obviously, it's just out the back door to "your own private bay beach." First listed in June 2010 for $1,499,000, four pricechops have brought the asking price down to the current $699,000.
