Barnstable Village Antique, Circa 1780, Asking $439K

Today is Flag Day and although it doesn't get us a day off or even warrant a snarky ecard, we thought we would make note. Thus, a listing with the stars and stripes out front. Flag Day worthy indeed.

It's not often that a house with a name comes on the market asking less than $500,000, but "Applecroft," Circa 1780, has done just that. Listed in August of 2011 for $479,000, a pricechop has brought the asking price down to $439,000. Located in Barnstable Village, the house has 2,272 sq. ft. with four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fireplace in the living room. Although listed as needing TLC, there's certainly plenty of charm left in this antique, including a screened in front porch and lots of original woodwork. The property is located within walking distance to the village and sits on a private one acre lot.
