The Glassy Cube in the Manhattan Sky Returns Asking $48M

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: New York, N.Y.
Price: $48,000,000
The Skinny: Own a large and highly profitable window washing company? Boy, is this the apartment for you. The 7,500-square-foot penthouse sits atop a historic Art Deco loft building in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood and is wrapped with a private 4,500-square-foot terrace. The 360° views, thanks to 18-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, can be enjoyed both inside and out and the glass used for those walls is described in the brokerbabble as "museum quality, high-performance, insulated glass." While we're not sure what qualifies sheets of glass for a museum, the broker is certainly looking to reassure potential buyers that this place won't be a greenhouse in the summer and/or a heat sink in the winter. The price for this four-bedroom residential version of an Apple Store is $48M, that's $3M more that it was asking last May befor being delisted.
