What happens if you don't pay your common charges in, say, a fancy amenities-filled NYC condo building? According to a recent piece in the Observer, you're stripped of dignity and lots of fun stuff: nixed key fob access to the gym, no access to the kids' playroom, zero parking privileges, and—perhaps the worst—doorman who just stand there while you open the door yourself.
