Pricey Hawaiian Estate Packs Plenty Onto Glorious Acreage

New, 3 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Kapaa, Hawaii
Price: $27,500,000
The Skinny: Nestled on 81 jungled acres at the head of the Kealia Forest Reserve on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, the Valley House was built atop a 125-year-old cistern, but carries a modern sensibility into the Hawaiian countryside. The 4,000-square-foot main house includes three bedrooms and 3.5 baths, a gourmet kitchen, a couple of open-air Lanai, and views of the rainforest. It's joined on the property by a second, smaller home, with two bedrooms, set on a hilltop with a broad deck, hot tub, Pacific visa, and a picture-perfect view of one of the property's two waterfalls. A third residence provides three more bedrooms for guests, while an eight-car garage houses the vehicles. Of course, even the extensive accommodations can't justify the jaw-dropping $27.5M price tag, that's what those views are for.
