Own a Nutso Master Suite With a 40,000-Gallon Indoor Pool

New, 6 comments

Remember the Utah house with a 40,000-gallon indoor saltwater pool in the master suite? A tipster pointed out that the property, which was featured on this week's episode of HGTV's Million Dollar Rooms, is actually on the market, and has been for quite some time now.

The eight-bedroom, 13,300-square-foot bionic feat of residential architecture was first listed for $2.5M last July but has since been PriceChopped mercilessly down to $1.6M. Given how nuts the place is, one would expect slightly more colorful brokerbabble than "It Is Unique And Very Interesting," but perhaps that's the only way some people can mentally come to terms with the replica '50s diner ("Straight Out of Happy Days"), indoor riding arena, and 2,000-square-foot master suite with a spa, fitness center, and 25-foot-long pool (which comes with a dehumidifying system and industrial-strength cover). The owner estimates he spent $1.8M on the master suite alone so it's likely he will take a loss, but perhaps if he carts the $12K copper-clad bathtub away with him that'll somewhat soften the blow. Have a look at the gallery above and then take another gander at the video tour.
