NEW YORK CITY—Meanwhile, on the municipal level, five Housing and Urban Development employees were rounded up by federal investigators on corruption charges. The five were accused of accepting bribes in exchange for approving contracts with developers and builders. Last year, former HUD employee Wendell Walters admitted to accepting more than $2.5M in similar bribes. [New York Post]
