The Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York has just installed some beehives on their roof. In what might be seen as a futile attempt for a stogy property to cash in on the urban beekeeping trend and be "cool," the hotel insists it's not just a marketing ploy and really a sincere attempt to go green: the manager promises he is "no longer having to go out and get packaged honey from hundreds of miles away." The first batch is expected later this summer. [WSJ]
