The wait is finally over for South Korean artist Do Ho Suh, whose permanent art installation opens today on the campus of UC San Diego. Started 7 years ago, "Fallen Star" is a three-quarter-size replica of a home from Providence, RI, cantilevered precariously off the edge of one of the university's engineering buildings. Past the landscaped front lawn, visitors can enter the fully-furnished home, if they're not too afraid of the 5-degree incline inside. But what does it all mean? The artist explains: "When you see a fallen star, it means that it fell from the sky from a different universe...It's something that's very out of context." Indeed.
