Built in 2008 by the Denver-based firm Boss Architecture, this newly listed Colorado home is located about four hours from Aspen, but lightyears from the over-the-top powerhouse parkitecture that makes Aspen famous. Clad in wood and stone, the 10,000-square-foot modern has cantilevers that create quiet places to hang out, walls of windows, and outdoor spaces punctuated by pools, walkways, a tea house, and koi ponds—in fact, the landscaper believes "all the elements of earth, water, fire, air, and space combine in this landscape" and "clean lines and unexpected edges, the meeting of texture and sound, all take our breath away." Inside, the three-bedroom, six-bathroom space is set up in "zones" and is eclectically furnished with midcentury seating and screens, funky glass chandeliers, and pieces that look as if they've been flown in from far-flung places. Will a new owner with $10M to spend trade the tufting and candelabras for lacquer and Lucite?
