Artist David Hockney's Uninspired Former Studio Asks $1.6M

New, 2 comments

Famed Brit-born artist David Hockney, he of the stylized swimming pool, might not seem like a likely candidate for this dour, gray number in the New York suburbs, but it apparently at one time served as his studio. Referred to today as the "Hockney House," the four-bedroom, six-bathroom home sits on more than 2.5 private acres in Bedford Corners, N.Y. Despite the space, location, and the art celebrity connection, the place is listed for just $1.575M, due no doubt in part to the lackluster interiors, but also to the fact that you'd be buying a Hockney house that doesn't even have a swimming pool. Still, there is plenty to like in the elegant lawns, dotted with old growth trees, and the stone archway that leads to a sculpted courtyard.
