Welcome to Hottest Week 2012, wherein Curbed pits hot (sexy, gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, spectacular, alluring, model-esque, and so on) architects, interior designers, and decorators against each other to determine once and for all who's the hottest of the hot. Stay tuned this week and next as the tournament unfolds. And let the games begin!
Michelle Workman of Michelle Workman Interiors may have decorated, say, Jennifer Lopez's home, but the Los Angeles-based interior designer isn't all glitz and glam. In fact, she calls mac & cheese her favorite food and "movie night with the hubs" her go-to Saturday night activity. Workman describes her aesthetic as "elegant with a dash of insouciance" and is inspired by some famous design duos: Anthony Baratta and William Diamond and the late, great Albert Hadley and Sister Parish.
Interior designer Marcia Prentice photographs and blogs about Los Angeles-area homes for Apartment Therapy and starred in Design School, an HGTV reality show that aired in 2010. Prentice, who's planning a trip to Italy and would love for AnnaLynne McCord to play her in the movie version of her life, calls her style "pretty modern." She possesses a real "love for historical architecture and finishes": "Give me an old Spanish estate from the 20s and let me have free rein and I am a happy girl."
UPDATE: This poll has been closed as of noon EST on Tues., Aug. 14, 2012.
