Here now, a look at David Bromstad's Miami condo, which is featured in the September issue of HGTV Magazine. Originally the designer—host of HGTV's Color Splash, mentor to the hopefuls on HGTV's Design Star, and a one-time contender in Curbed's Hottest Week 2011—"tried to create a whole 'Mr. Color Splash' look" but eventually "stopped, looked around, and said, 'I can't live like this.' It was the ugliest thing I'd ever done." Now Bromstad's digs largely painted white, with dark-wood floors and accents in the form of sheepskin rugs, patterned wallpaper, bright throw pillows, and a faux "chalkboard wall" in the kitchen. Also spotted: rugs from Ikea and CB2 and knockoff Jacobsen Egg chairs. Have a look above.
