Olive Oil at Truro Vineyards; The Billionaire Benedict; More!

TRURO - Susan Blood heads to Truro Vineyards to get schooled on olive oil by Chef Adrian Cyr. "When real tasters sample the olive oil, they have a chart to go by. Characterization is divided by aroma, flavor, texture and so forth, with ranges and examples of each, including baby vomit." That sounds like the perfect gift for a Yankee Swap. [iocapecod.com]

NANTUCKET - Kiwi Chris Leadbeater heads to The Grey Lady and orders a "reasonably priced" Nantucketer omelette for $18 at the Brant Point Grill, but wonders if the man at the next table "...will choose the Billionaire Benedict, a flight of fancy that - with eggs poached in champagne, two 4oz filets mignons, lobster claw, caviar, crème fraîche, pancakes and muffin - is a less affordable US$100." WELLFLEET - During Wellfleet Dines Out, taking place from August 31 through Columbus Day, "several Wellfleet restaurants have pledged to donate a portion of their evening food sales to the Wellfleet Council on Aging. The proceeds will benefit services, senior center programs and special needs of Wellfleet seniors." CCT has the full list of participating restaurants. [Cape Cod Today]
