Second Seller Hopes for Wynn-Sized Jackpot on Central Park

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: New York, N.Y.
Price: $50,000,000
The Skinny: Located in the same park-front building where casino mogul Steve Wynn plunked down $70M—one of the highest prices ever paid for a Manhattan condo—for a penthouse, this 4,500-square-foot apartment might be less than half the size, but don't expect half the price. Nope, this two-bedroom, four-bed pad in the Ritz Carlton Hotel is asking a heady $50M, plus almost $14,000 per month in common charges and taxes. The interiors are by presidential decorator Michael Smith, with international influences throughout, including a library "inspired by Coco Chanel’s famous Paris apartment is fitted with 18th century Chinese lacquer panels," which is fitting, because the owner is probably also looking for a deep-pocketed international buyer of the sort that buy such expensive apartments in New York these days. Even Mr. Wynn, who made his name in Vegas, is currently making more money overseas with his joint venture in the Chinese casino town of Macau. If the current owner gets anything close to $50M, he or she is going to feel like they've won the jackpot: this apartment last traded hands, in 2007, for just $21M. That is, if people this rich really care about such things.
UPDATE: An eagled-eyed tipster points out that this place was featured in Architectural Digest last year. Good call. Plus, another anonymous tipster wrote in to tell us that this palatial penthouse is being sold by Howard and Nancy Marks, the couple that just spent $52.5M on a grand duplex at storied 740 Park Avenue.
