Louis Kahn's Esherick House Gets a Massive Price Chop

New, 6 comments

After holding strong at $1.9M, Louis Kahn's famous Esherick House—one of only nine houses built to plans by the legendary architect—has had to resort to some price chopping. In February, the price came down to $1.5M, but, after six more months without a bite, the price plunged again last week, to an all-time low of $1.25M. That one-bed, 1.5-bath architectural rarity is having trouble finding a buyer shouldn't come as much of a surprise. After all, similarly priced homes in the area usually have about twice as much space. Kahn is a Philadelphia icon, though, and any further choppage should get the place sold quickly, even with the black and white photos.
