Screenwriter's Carib Getaway Chopped; Favorite Buildings

SAINT LUCIA— Oscar-winning screenwriter Nancy Dowd, who spent a couple of seasons on Saturday Night Live back in the '80s, has just chopped the price of her Caribbean getaway on the island of St. Lucia. Now listed for $1.495M, the the casual estate dates from the colonial period and enjoys 8.5-acres of privacy and sweeping views of the island capital of Castries. [Curbed Inbox]

NYC— The Wall Street Journal asked three real estate bigwigs what their favorite buildings were. Of the three, at least Larry Silverstein seems to have taste. He picked Mies van der Rohe's stunning Seagram Tower, in Midtown Manhattan, a "tower that literally changed the psychology of office building in New York City." [WSJ]
