Famous as the creator of gossipy cultural sensation Sex and the City, Candace Bushnell has just listed her two-bedroom co-op in Greenwich Village for $2.8M. The listing comes in the aftermath of a particularly messy and tabloid-worthy divorce from her husband, a ballet dancer who was reportedly carrying on an affair with a co-star. There's nothing messy about their apartment, however, which was featured on the cover of Elle Decor in September 2005. When Bushnell moved in, the place was "a wreck" that "hadn't been occupied for many years." After a full makeover at the hands of designer Susan Forristal, a friend, the place was ready for the glossy cover and, now, for the market. In selling this Gold Coast pad, Bushnell will be leaving behind more than just bad memories of a love gone wrong, she'll also be saying goodbye to neighbor Chris Noth, the actor best known for his role as Mr. Big, who also owns an apartment in the historic building.
