A Miami developer has put forth a proposal for Pelion Sunrise—not a house cocktail or a fancy facial treatment, as the name would imply, but rather the city's first-ever ski resort. It's "basically a giant freezer," as Curbed Miami puts it, and would include 2,700-foot-long indoor slopes; areas for snowboarding, sledding, ice skating, tobogganing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing; a skate park, Go Kart track, climbing maze, skydiving facilities, paintball, and lasertag; plus a 275-room hotel, shops, and restaurants. If built, Pelion Sunrise would become the world's largest sports complex and aim for LEED Platinum certification despite having to maintain a constant 31 degrees while the Miami sun blazes on outside. Curbed Miami has more on this bionic winter wonderland.
