Good news for sellers in the western United States: the Wall Street Journal reports that a housing shortage boosted quick sales in the region last month. San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles all had more than 40 percent of listings go under contract in less than two weeks. Seattle, Denver, and Phoenix are not far behind. It's a different story in the Northeast: Chicago and Boston properties reported slow to sell. [WSJ]
