Cape Rep Theatre; $2.5M in Hurricane Sandy Repairs; & More!

HYANNIS - The Barnstable Board of Health has voted to ban the sale of tobacco products in pharmacies. Statewide, about 50 towns and cities have similar regs, including three other Cape towns. "Under the new regulations, the sale of cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco or other tobacco products is prohibited at health care institutions, including pharmacies such as CVS and Rite Aid." OAK BLUFFS - The Steamship Authority has authorized $2.5M in repairs for the Oak Bluffs ferry terminal for damage caused by Hurricane Sandy. The authority will be reimbursed up to 75 percent of the cost by FEMA. "The pier will be redesigned with steel piles and steel caps to minimize future damage...whereas the failed parts of the pier were constructed of wood." [Vineyard Gazette]
