December's Priciest Sale; ACK Conservation Buying 207 Acres

NANTUCKET - The Conservation Foundation has agreed to spend "$19 million for 207 acres of open space in the middle moors of Polpis from the Norwood Farm Trust. The Land Bank will join the Foundation as a partner in the transaction, paying $7 million for 76 acres of the property...This sprawling and iconic property, bordered to the west, south and east by extensive conservation holdings, represents the largest, unprotected, privately-owned parcel on Nantucket." BARNSTABLE - Since medical marijuana is now officially legal in Mass., it's time to start sorting it all out. There's already a proposal to zone an area for pot dispensaries and now a Barnstable Town Councilor "has proposed a moratorium on medical marijuana treatment centers in Cape Cod's largest town until the Massachusetts Department of Public Health comes up with specific rules related to the new law." OSTERVILLE - In Mansion Cliff news: "A seven-bedroom waterfront palace on nearly three acres in Osterville on Cape Cod has sold for $7.5 million, the most expensive single-family dwelling to sell in the Bay State in December." [Boston Business Journal]
