Hear ye, hear ye: right this second marks the commencement of Curbed's inaugural Whale Week, a five-day tribute to the "whales"—in other words, the high rollers and big spenders, to use popular Vegas slang—within the realms of real estate and design. Throughout the week, look for interviews with the highest-end designers on the planet; profiles of the world's foremost whales and the habitats they've created; maps, guides, and amped-up celebrity coverage; and just the right dose of Donald Trump; and a few too many Russian billionaires. Whale Week also marks the time all three verticals within the Curbed Network—Curbed, Racked, and Eater—have joined forces, so play along on Curbed National and the Curbed local sites, and be sure to check out Racked (for, say, the most expensive items ever purchased on Gilt) and Eater (for meals with, say, unnecessary gold flakes), as well. This will be fun.
