The old adage of location, location, location seems to ring true in an interesting way with this Telluride Victorian. Yesterday we looked at a 10,000 square foot slopeside contemporary mansion in Steamboat Springs with its own indoor basketball court that was on the market for a tad under $8 million. This Galena Avenue home is about 4,000 square feet and most of the modern amenities short of its Steamboat competition, but only loses a mil off the price tag. For those with horrid shorthand math skills, that's 6,000 square feet for $7,000,000. The complete scarcity of developable land in the tiny box canyon of Telluride is likely the reason why these two houses are (relatively) close together in price, as well as the clean, simple Old West appeal of much of the interior, which is relatively uncrowded and sports a clean, spacious kitchen, an airy barn attic, and a game parlor that could be straight ouf of The Buck (aka The Last Dollar Salloon) downtown. Also of note is the 4 bed, 4.5 baths, and 155 feet of Cornet Creek stream frontage. Becaue you know how those Westerners love their stream frontages.
