Land a Private Helicopter at This $3.7M Connecticut Estate

New, 9 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: New Canaan, Conn.
Price: 3,695,000
The Skinny: Sure, five bedrooms, four-and-two-half bathrooms, a library, a pool, and a hot tub are all nice, but what's the point of it all if you're not allowed to legally land your helicopter? Luckily, this 8.25-acre Connecticut estate is one of the few properties in Fairfield County where you can do just that: while the house itself is in New Canaan, where landing a helicopter on residential property is strictly prohibited, the lawn crosses the border into Pound Ridge, N.Y, where anything goes. And upon exiting the helicopter, there is, in addition to the pool and hot tub, a bamboo pool house with a full bar and bath, a pergola, and a large patio. The house itself was built in 1997 and totals 5,522 square feet. The whole thing costs $3.7M, which, if you've already got the personal helicopter, shouldn't be a huge deal.
