Loveland Ski Area opened this morning to bluebird skies and with excellent groomed snow. Chair 1 provided access to one top-to-bottom run and nearly 1,000 vertical feet. A loyal crowd of Loveland skiers hit the lift line early, but unlike the huge crowd at Arapahoe Basin's opening day, there was never a wait. Curbed Ski can report firsthand that coverage and snow quality were surprisingly good for October skiing. In the past week, Loveland received over 15 inches of snow and had the snow guns pumping. It looks Colorado's northern mountains will get hit with another storm tonight, so skiers can expect both Loveland and A-Basin to open more terrain soon.
