Must Watch "McConkey" Film Earns Big Laughs and Tears in Denver

"McConkey," a documentary on the legendary free-skier Shane McConkey, premiered in Denver Monday night to a large crowd at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. This followed a Boulder screening on Sunday night and both crowds celebrated the funnyman and adrenaline addict with big applause. The film made it to the Tribeca Film Festival last April and is now touring the country with its sponsors, Red Bull Media House and MSP Films. It's also available on iTunes for download. "McConkey" tells the story of Shane's huge personality, his unprecedented contributions to skiing, and his tragic death at 39 years old while ski BASE jumping in Italy in 2009. Curbed Ski loves Teton Gravity Research's "Way of Life," but if there's one movie you watch this ski season, "McConkey" should be it.
