Curbed Ski reported on Aspen's latest luxurious vacation promotion a few weeks ago, but alas, the report caused quite the brouhaha and the heli-skiing, jet-setting package is no more. The almost $80,000 trip included three nights at the Little Nell in Aspen and three nights in a sister property, the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. The Aspen Times asked an Aspen Skiing Co VP how the carbon-heavy vacation aligned with the company's pro-environment effort to fight climate change and reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. After some thought, Ski Co CEO Mike Kaplan and officials at the Little Nell decided to cancel the promotion. Sad day for billionaire travelers everywhere, but huzzah for the environment!
